Who is Art Therapy for?
Art therapy is a powerful, evidence-based practice that supports people in processing emotions, reducing stress, and reconnecting with themselves-especially when words alone don’t feel like enough. It can be helpful for anyone navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, or a desire for deeper self-understanding.
While no art experience is required, people with an interest or background in art tend to report the most benefit. For creative professionals in particular, art therapy can offer a vital space to process burnout, reconnect with a personal art practice, and explore what it means to create from a place of authenticity rather than obligation.
Our Specialty Areas
-
Art therapy offers space and tools to process complex emotions that come with major life transitions—grief, uncertainty, identity shifts, or hope for what’s next. Through creative exploration, clients can gain clarity, express feelings that are hard to name, and begin to reimagine their path forward.
-
For people who are neurodivergent or navigating chronic illness, pain, or disability, art therapy can provide a sensory-friendly, nonverbal way to express experiences, reduce overwhelm, and build self-regulation tools. It honors the body and mind as they are- without needing to fit into neurotypical or able-bodied norms.
-
Art therapy creates a safe container for expressing experiences that may feel too overwhelming, confusing, or fragmented to put into words. Whether you're healing from trauma or integrating non-ordinary state experiences, creative work can offer grounding, insight, and a gentle path toward meaning-making.
Meet the Studio Director
Hi, I’m Kaitlin. I’m an art therapist who believes in the healing power of creativity, connection, and feeling truly seen. My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and rooted in deep listening. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade working as a researcher and strategist, helping people tell their stories and helping organizations listen better. Today, I support individuals—especially creatives and caregivers—who are moving through burnout, big transitions, or a sense of disconnection. I’ve worked in schools and community studios, alongside kids, teens, and disabled adults, and I’m continually inspired by the many ways we make meaning through art.
You don’t need to be an artist to benefit from art therapy- just curious, open, and ready to explore. If you're looking for a space to reconnect with yourself and create something meaningful in the process, I’d be honored to work with you.
